The ABC-collection

Hello everyone!

Is your weather as great as ours? we have the very best of weathers these days: beautiful sunshine combined with cold, fresh air. it feels wonderful to be outside! i hope it will last for long and keep the springfeeling up. :)

As I am working on my new collection, I have little time for other things. But since it will take a while until i can officially launch it with all products set and done, I am making another project in the meantime: ABC-posters. The plan is to make one animal-poster per letter. For some letters i might feel more inspired to put a plant or a dish instead of an animal, let`s see. :)

We`re kickstarting with the letter P.
P as in parrot! :) (P som i papegoja)

For now it is available here.

Have a great day everyone!! :)

peace! :)

Hello everyone and sorry for the long silence.
in january my life changed pretty much as in the entrance of the turku hospital my second daughter was born. :)

as with my first child,i was again amazed by the little body, the tiny toes and hands and remembered how it was to hold a baby.

so i have taken things a bit slower, trying to figure out how to do things with two kids, how to be there for both at the same time, how to introduce the little one to the "big" one without her to get jealous.

luckily enough i am not alone with this and the great workinghours of my husband have allowed me to work as well. currently i am working on my new collection and could not be more excited. :)

on facebook and instagram you may find some sneak peeks. ;)

see u soon! :)

we`re in FAMILY LIVING!! :)

Hello everyone and things could not be better!

I have one favourite magazine that i am constantly waiting for. it`s called "family living" and is one of the newer interior magazines in sweden. it is always filled with great ideas, a lot of colours and beautiful family-homes. so you can understand how suprised and happy i was when i was turning the pages of their latest issue and all of a sudden saw my bear sitting on a chair!!

our bear in my favourite magazine!! i could not be more proud! <3

him and his friends are available here and here. :)

unravelling 2015

Hello everyone!

This year is now 2 weeks old and i feel the need to talk about it. 2014 has been a very stressful, intense but also amazing year for me in every way. it was the year i founded mooncake and the year it started to grow. i am still thankful for all that has happened, since it sometimes still feels like a dream. <3

year 2015 is gonna be very different from last year, with some new personal challenges that i might be able to talk about in a week or two. ;) despite looking forward to it, i am also a bit nervous. everything is going to change and i am insecure about how well i am going to handle it.

what always seems to help me against scary thoughts is to write about it. therefore i am sooo happy that i stumbled over this free printable:

"unravelling the year ahead" is made by Susannah Conway and free available at www.susannahconway.com. to be honest i had never heard about her before or even thought that there could be such thing as a "book about the upcoming year", but once i stumbled over it on a blog i was reading, it caught me immediately.

in times of insecurity, when you don`t know what to expect the upcoming weeks or months, when you`re all anxious because you can`t plan ahead and all your body hurts, it can be great to have something to hold on to. and this is what i am doing with this booklet.

i hope i could help someone with this hint. :)

have a great evening, everyone!! <3

Kickstarting 2015: we`re as trend 2015 in "allt i hemmet"! :)

Hello everybody!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mondays can be extremely boring or loaded with many tasks and negative feelings. In my case, this monday is not one of them. for one we have beautiful sunshine outside, with snowcovered fields and people walking their dogs in winterwonderland.

And- the even better part- : we are in "allt i hemmet"s trend 2015-pages. This is great news and makes me very proud. "Allt i hemmet" is a big interior magazine in sweden and has existed since 1956. Luckily for me it is also sold in finland. :)

This has happily kickstarted my 2015!
Rock on, everybody and keep up the good mood! ;)

All about Christmas and a Happy New Year ;)

Hello everyone and a happy new year!!!

Here i am, spamming you with pictures of this years christmas-and new years-celebrations. :)

We`ve had it pretty quiet for christmas, with only the three of us and my mother in law, but it has been nice and relaxing. on top of that it never gets boring with a child in the house. I actually really like christmas eave a lot more with little human than without. there actually is a sort of excitement in the air and you might just wanna start believing in santa claus again. ;)

As you might have noticed by now, i am not much of a people-picture-poster, since i never am sure if everyone is comfortable with appearing on my blog, so i prefer to take pix of things and happenings around me. on the upper pic, you see my little missy. i somehow completely missed to take a picture with all the presents under the tree, probably because half of the presents were forgotten in the closet the first hour, and then "magically appeared" under the tree when the child was in the restroom ;).

Hello mr snowman!! :)

parts of the christmasfood <3 the napkin i am very much in love with. bought at "tiger". :)

One very cool thing about new years is: it is also our wedding anniversary. :) this year we were celebrating 2 years as husband and wife. i got roses, a beautiful cake saying " happy 2 year" ( :D ) and a box with products from bodyshop. some people think it is sad to have this anniversary at the same time as new years, since you miss out on one party during the year. but i think that it is a great thing to have fireworks on the wedding anniversary. how many people have that? :)

for new years we had full house as usual. My husbands uncle and his spouse came over from sweden and as a tradition we always invite our former neighbours and friends. it was a great night! :)

two different kinds of cheeeeeeeesecakes!!! <3

the fishing-game seen underneeth got very popular!

So now: A happy new year to all of you!!! may it bring happiness, love, joy, health and luck!! <3

we`re in nordic living gift guide :)

Hello everyone!

How are you holding up the last week before Christmas? :)
i personally have to admit that i havent had time to buy a single present yet. but i am usually the last-minite-rusher so i am getting used to that. :)

The last 4 weekends mooncake has been selling on Turku Christmasmarket and it has been a really great experience. Thank you to everybody who came. :)

Also right now, we are in Nordic Living magazines gift guide and they even put a "designer-in-focus"-page about us there, so i feel really flattered. :)

Have a great day everyone! :)

We`re in "rum hemma" magazine! :)

Hello and hooray!

In this months issue of rum hemma magazine you can find the mooncake bear sparkling in lovely christmas lighting :) :

It was actually the first time I held that magazine in my hands, since I don`t think it is available in Finland. So what a lucky coincidence that it was published while I was in Sweden. It is a very nice magazine overall, I like the layout and the things they write about. Totally my type of reading!

Happy evening to you all! :)

Beautiful shop in Nacka Forum :)

Hi everyone!

As previously mentioned, mooncake products are sold in the beautiful NDC. shop in Nacka Forum in Stockholm. While visiting I now had the chance to go there and look at it myself. I must say, i was very amazed by how beautiful everything was. I`d seen all products online, but it really feels so different when you can go there and look at everything closely, touch the fabrics and textiles, try on the jewelry and check out the posters from different angles.

Beautiful, oh so beautiful!! And it makes me proud to see the owl as first thing when walking in <3

Calender now available in the nacka shop!

I really like the whole shop and could easily buy the biggest part of it for myself- sooo nice things!! <3

Also in Finland Mooncake has moved in to a selection of shops. I`ll soon tell you more about it! :) Until then: Aveo.fi has a big range of mooncake products ready for shipping within Finland (i even think i saw some on sale ;) ) .

See you soon! <3

Calendar-events, Christmasmarkets and instagram :)

Hello everyone!

I can`t explain why it always happens to me that I am way too late with these blogupdates! Maybe because there is so much happening all the time. Luckily mostly fun stuff! :)

Let me start by inviting you all to the christmasmarket that starts this saturday (today) at the novia university of applied sciences. it is very close to the old market and goes on from 11-5 o clock. In case you can`t make it this weekend, no worries! mooncake will be there 3 more weekends! I`d love to see you there! :)

One thing i`ve been dying to tell you  is this:

these are all the featured designs. Mine is September, Mrs Mushroom :) :

taken from nordicdesigncollective.se

The Nordic Design Collective- Calender 2015! Last year it was the first year they launched a calender and it was sold out in a very short time. This year they decided to take some more time and print up a bigger amount. I felt very honoured that my design -which was exclusively made for the calendar- got chosen to be part of it.

Yesterday a beautiful vernissage was held in Östermalm, Stockholm to launch the Calendar. All 12 illustrations are going to be exhibited there within two weeks time in 50x70 size and those exhibited one-off-pieces are also for sale. The fun part about the gallery is, that it at the same time also is a very fancy hairdresser saloon. I`ve never seen this combination before, but it works great!!

My contribute, "Mrs Mushroom": :)

I actually have very little photos of the vernissage itself, mostly due do the fact that I was busy talking and socializing all the time. :D but if there show up more pix on other blogs, i will definitely share them with you!

If you`d like to read more about the calendar, check out this blog. In case you`d like to have one, it is brandnew and since today ready for order here.

Last but not least: I finally made it!! mooncake joined instagram!!! it has taken a while but now we`re there! you can find us under @mooncake.design .

Have a great friday/saturday everyone!! :)

mojang and secrets

Hello everybody!

Greetings from stressed-island. i don`t know what happened but for some reason i constantly have a lot of things to do at the same time and there seems to be no end. Luckily though, i only have good news to tell you which makes all kinds of work go easily.

First off: Do you remember that I talked about our new cottonbags in a former blogpost? While they have been available in my NDC onlineshop for a while, they now moved into their first physical shop: Mojang.

Mojang is a very beautiful little shop in Hägersten, Stockholm. I`ve been there a couple of times myself while visiting Stockholm this summer and bought some beautiful items for our home. You find a little bit of everything there, nice lighting, cute little boxes, jewelry and some fashion items. And now also Mooncake shoppingbags. Cheers to that!. :)

This is the moose-bag, one out of  6 different designs., available here :)

The second great thing that i am dying to tell you is actually a secret, but I can give you a hint: It has to do with the Nordic Design Collective calendar for 2015 and what will be in it...
I`ll tell you more when I am allowed to! ;)

We have pretty rainy and cloudy weather here these days which makes me even happier staying inside. ;) Last weekend we invited some friends over for a dinner party and the day after we had breakfast in bed (my daughter gets happy and me paranoid because of possible stains on the bed- (in case you now say: common, you can wash your bedsheets! i want to tell you that our complete bed is made out of fabric and stains stick perfectly on beige)). Though it freaks me out every time, is a great weekend tradition that i hope to continue with for many years to come. :)

After that we went to kuralan kylämäki. it is a really nice place where you can look at old houses and how the interior was back in the days. Also they have a cute little cafeteria with a small, old fashioned shop and the main attraction for kids: sheep and a horse. The good part for us is that it is very close to where we live, open all year around and for free. They even have activities for kids there, which makes it super for cloudy sundays.

This weekend my dad came for a visit, which is rare (since we don`t live in the same country) and always highly appreciated. It is always great to talk to him to put things into perspective. Not to mention my daughter who loves her granddad... When picking him up from the train i learned though that she is scared of loudspeakers. who would have thought?

have a great day, everyone! :)

Our new catalogue is here!

Hello everyone and hoorayy!!! is all i can say!

Finally the official mooncake catalogue is out and i could not be happier. This is what it looks like on my living room carpet:

Sure, if you do something by yourself and put your heart and soul into it, you won`t ever be 100 percent pleased because you see all those little details. But it is done, finished, out and on its way to some cute little (and some beautiful and bigger) shops. :)
(on the pic above you just see a few of them, in real life i have A LOT!)

at least it looks nice on my coffee table, wasnt that the important thing? ;)

have a great wednesday night everyone!! <3

Hello october! :)

Happy october, everyone! :)

october in bavaria, two years ago... :)

Is it as cold and sunny where you are as it is here? We have this beautiful autumn weather going on, that i love particularly much. It is the time to dig out thick scarfs, but still wear sunglasses when you`re going outside. Definitely the time for long walks and deep breaths that make you see the air coming out of the mouth. Love it!! <3 The picture above is not here, but in Bavaria where we went hiking two years ago. It was such a lovely day!

Here in mooncake land i am busy, busy, busy.
while still eagerly waiting for my freshly printed catalogues to arrive, a lot of other things are happening in the meantime.

Let`s start with the happy news that we have a new retailer for our products!! :) We proudly present mooncake moving in, here to www.confidentliving.se .The homepage is beautiful and on our first day online we already got orders. It is always great to kickstart something. :)

Another cool thing is that we`ve upgraded the package design of our fridge magnets. They now come in a pack like this and are available here

We will soon have a new series of fridge magnets coming up, with some new, cool patterns. Stay tuned ;)

Last but especially not least (!!) is the fact that the great time of exhibitions and fairs has started again. oh, how i love autumn!!

pic from nordicdesigncollective.se

So some of our pillows and fridge magnets will join to the hem&villa fair in stockholm!

it starts tomorrow and will go on until the 5th of october. :)
I have had a look into the programme and seen that there are many many great things happening!

so if you are up for a trip or in the stockholm area, go ahead and check it out! it will definitely be worth it! to see the mooncake products, among other beautiful products sold on NDC, visit the stand A08:26.

:)

talking about fairs,  I had an actual "fair weekend" two weeks ago, where i spent the saturday at the kids fair in Turku with my husband and little one. It was great with rabbits jumping over fences, alpaccas to pet and all kinds of things to do for children. My daughter was madly in love with "ville viking", who is the mascot of the big viking line ships going between sweden and finland and who she got to dance with on the fair. Also many different local clothing brands were present and had special offers, which was nice.

On sunday we made a daytrip to helsinki and visited our sweet friends and kid`s godparents. While being there i went to habitare fair, finlands biggest furniture and light fair. it is always great to see new things, talk to interesting people and get inspired.

so now i`ll pour myself another cup of coffee and continue with this day! :) have a good one you too!!

A summer story

Hello everyone!

I am truly sorry for this very long blog-pause.

So many things have happened. first summer came along with some weeks in germany, a couple of weeks in sweden and finally many many weeks in our little summercottage in finland. it is a great place to be, if you want to pick blueberrys, enjoy the forest, swim in the lake and relax. if you have many things to do and a child with you however, it becomes a bit tricky. nevertheless, we all enjoyed the stay very much.

here a couple of summerpictures:

berries berries berries.... all kinds and as much as a little girl could ever dream of....

jam!

here we went out by boat with my cousin and her family. her husband made coffee in what must be the coolest coffee maker ever!

every summer i love them a bit more, our dear old coffee cups <3

this must be the softest nose i`ve touched in a while.

(still happy that this fish got its freedom back after we had admired its red eyes :) )

...and finally the smallest snail of the forest :)

During summer mooncake has been busy selling on designers markets. one of them was in Pietarsaari/Jakobstad and the second one in Vaasa. Both times were a success and I met a lot of lovely people. We had a great time!

what a warm and lovely day it was in jakobstad.

(remember these? I had lavender bags with me on last years christmas market in turku. Here is now the summer version in summer colours. :) )

Also the last deal-details with AVEO were closed, who now officially is our agent for Finland. We are very happy about that.

The next big thing that came up in September was the opening of the Nordic Design Collective Popup-shop in Stockholm. A couple of designers were chosen to be part of the shop and have their products for sale. We are very excited about being part of the shop. :)

Right now, we are working 24/7 on our product catalogue which comes out one of these days. It is our first official catalogue and to be honest i very much underestimated the work that is put into creating it. I could not be happier about having it done and being able to share it with you. :)

In the catalogue there will also be a couple of new products! :) Stay tuned!
