happy easter!

about products, plants and bunnys :)

yesterday was one of these days when the little bunny needed some extra hugs. it had the flue. luckily little missy was there to take care of him. she offered him napkin after napkin, gave him lots of comforting kisses and hugged him very tightly. <3 I realized when looking at this pic that the lady herself looks a bit sad, which she wasn`t. only a combination of just-woken-up and feeling bad for her little bunny. ;)

today is a good day with sun and extra fast growing red pepper plants.

my husband is right now making a hell of a noise, building a growing station for our vegetables. We both love spring, when everything comes to life and flowers and leaves and everything starts to awake again after a long winter. our apartment is unfortunately not the place with the most of light, so the plants just don`t get enough of it.

Since we have three big aquariums and therefore even more unused aquariumparts, he is rebuilding an aquarium light to a plant-light. how cool isn`t that? i can`t wait to see our tomatoes grow in the kitchen! :)

So the Mooncake products are going to join a blog-event and i could not be more excited! A lot of bloggers are gonna gather and get the latest trends presented, such as wallpapers, posters, carpets and also pillows. 

Sitting here 400 kilometres away I have no possibility of jumping over for an afternoon, but i decided to send over some small things for the bloggers. It is always nice to give presents, almost as nice as receiving them. ;)

i am a handmade-kind-of-girl and therefore made decorative magnets for them.

I hope they like them. the magnets go great on fridges or a magnetic wall in a workspace. Somehow it was not my perfect day with the camera though, therefore the pix are a bit weird and blurry.

It was actually very cosy sitting at my desk in the evening, cutting and glueing and feeling in peace. <3 i hope that peace jumped with the products in the pack and that it is still there, silently smiling when the little envelopes arrive at the bloggers homes.

shining like pure gold!

Hello everyone! It`s been a while- i`ve spent 3 weeks in germany, enjoying spring weather and the good company of family and friends. I ate hilariously much and took embaressingly few photos, but maybe i`ll still make it to put together a post about it. 
I went to visit my dear grandma, who showed and gave me something truely amazing: 

yarn.
but not any yarn. my great-grandmothers yarn!!
I dont know if you guys understand how that makes me feel. i am not a person that collects antique stuff or holds on to every personal thing ever gotten from a relative or friend. even though i have a lot of things i am more than happy to get rid of old, unused stuff.


BUT this is different. this is soooo different! is it because this yarn is so old and yet so strong and good? the strongest and best quality i`ve ever had? because it shines like pure gold and you can see that quality back then was a completely different thing to quality these days?

or because my great-grandmother died around a year before i was born and i`ve never owned anything that was hers? they say she was the sweetest of all people. lovely, happy, always smiling and with a heart as big as the ocean. Is it because the colours are so soft and exactly the ones that i need? I can`t tell, but just seeing them makes me deeply happy.

I can`t explain it. but i love working with this yarn. sewing pillows, closing them with small stitches made by hand. 

To last. Forever.

It is night and i am sad.

Our dear friends are moving away. 

It has been a fact for a while and all of a sudden the time disappeared and left us with facts.

We live in a city that we made our home. 

My husband and I met here, moved in together, had our little girl and got married. We have everything we wanted, we`ve got everything we need. What we don`t have close is family. 

Don`t get me wrong- we have them. We`ve got parents in sweden and germany, grandparents also in finland and chile, we`ve got uncles. aunts, cousins all over the planet and they all are amazing- we would not wanna miss them for the world.

But close, physically close, there is noone. And since my husband works at seas it many times is just my daughter and me. It never really bothered me though, since growing up as an only child never left me without friends. I would find them and keep them, building my own social network from a time on when i was very small. 

Friends are important to us, to me. The ones that are further away, i might not talk to as often, but every time we meet we just continue where we stopped last time. i am lucky to have some of those special, superduper-friends who don`t let go no matter what. distance is just in the head.

But then there are those friends who are there, close, physically close, the ones you meet every day, the ones that share the same situations, the ones that help you out and that laugh with you when you just have to tell someone about this extremely embaressing situation that you got yourself into in the supermarket. The friend who hears your frustration about being up countless nights in a row with a child that doesnt sleep, or that friend who makes the life saving coffee when you`re sure the end is near. The one that says warm words when you need them or gets drunk with you in a cold bar.

The friend that is there, in life. present and around, in the same boat, floating around between the islands of everyday life.

Now my friend is moving and i could not be more sad. Our daughters have grown up together, met each other about 4 times a week. they`ve laughed with and at each other, sceamed and yelled at each other, hugged, kissed and pushed. My kid shouts Idas name whenever she sees the house or whenever she hears a doorbell. Any dorbell anywhere. She will miss them so badly. And so will I. very, very much.

They are going to start their new life in another country and i can`t and won`t blame them. They`ve had it rough, they`ll have it good. 

And we will be ok.

Thoughts.

There is an AMAZING thing going on in Brooklyn, USA, called the sketchbook project. When i first read about it, my heart started pounding and i knew exactly that this is perfect. this is exactly one of those things, that i love and that i could dedicate my life to. 

Imagine this: sketchbooks. over sketchbooks. over sketchbooks and sketchbooks and sketchbooks. in a library. and you can just take one out, look at it, flick through the book and fall in love. with the drawings, the sketches, the ideas that someone had about them and the love that person put into it. 

And it becomes even better: there are tourbusses that go on tour with the books! they stop in different cities and people can have a look. :) 

of course i ordered a book for myself immediately and started filling it. soon it is going to be on tour. i chose the route over new york city, since this is the place i`ve always wanted to visit myself. and the idea that a part of me will be there makes me very happy!!

It`s been quite silent around here lately and i apologize. I`ve been quite busy since many things are about to happen. :) But since it still is kindof a secret, I`ll use the time to make a post about my little girls 2nd birthdayparty. It is always nice to see some happy, colourful pictures when it`s grey outside.

oh so many presents she got!

 She has always had pretty short hair and it therefore came as a happy surprise that it started growing like crazy about half a year ago. Now we can even try out some cute hairstyles! :)

One of her presents were the little bunnies from sylvanian families. i actually bought them cause i thought they were very cute and was happy to see that she loved them, too. personally i find them without clothes a lot sweeter though. :) 

on her 1st birthday i started the tradition of putting up some pics of the year and am eager to keep it going until she turns 18. i think it is a great way of remembering what has happened during that year and also to see some funny pics with different guests from the party. this year we had a lot of guests, our whole apartment was full. 5 kids were jumping around everywhere and i wished it was summer so we could use the garden.

The ladybug: This was the first time that I made a cake with marcipan, so i was rather pleased with the result. The birthdaygirl approved, that was the most important thing. :)

The time has gone by so fast and i really can`t believe i  have a two year old instead of that little baby that was here just a short while ago. it`s amazing! all of a sudden there is a person with oppinions and voice, talking in sentences and running around like she wants. Cheers to two hard but very sweet years! <3
